A God who heals

Opening Responses

   .
Reader Come to the Lord all you who are troubled and sad
ALL  COME TO OUR LORD WHO IS TENDERNESS AND COMPASSION
THE GOD WHO HEALS EVERY ONE OF YOUR ILLS.
  .
Reader Come to the Lord, all you who are weary and overburdened
ALL COME TO OUR LORD – SHARE HIS YOKE AND LEARN FROM HIM
FOR HE IS GENTLE AND HUMBLE
AND YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOUL.
  .
Reader  Come to the Lord, all you whose spirits are cast down
whose hopes and dreams have been bruised by the power of sin
ALL COME TO OUR LORD WHO DOES NOT QUENCH THE WAVERING FLAME
OR BREAK THE CRUSHED REED
but who faithfully brings justice – pardon – and peace
  .
Reader Come all you who are afraid or haunted by guilt
ALL COME TO OUR LORD WHO BIDS US NOT TO BE AFRAID
FOR HE HAS REDEEMED US –
COME TO OUR GOD WHO HAS CALLED US BY NAME
IN WHOSE EYES WE ARE PRECIOUS
AND HONOURED
AND LOVED.

Closing Responses
  .
Reader Watch now, dear Lord,
with those who wake
or watch
or weep tonight,
and give your angels charge
over those who sleep.
ALL TEND YOUR SICK ONES, O LORD CHRIST,
REST YOUR WEARY ONES,
BLESS YOUR DYING ONES,
SOOTHE YOUR SUFFERING ONES,
PITY YOUR AFFLICTED ONES,
SHIELD YOUR JOYOUS ONES,
AND ALL FOR YOUR LOVE’S SAKE.
  .
Reader Now may the God of hope fill us
with all joy and peace in believing,
that we may abound in hope
in the power of the Holy Spirit

ALL

AMEN
