Brother Roger

Brother Roger RIP

There are, we admit, clearer pictures of Brother Roger! We chose this one because, for us, it symbolised what Brother Roger has done for us and for the world.... In the darkness of the Second World War in Europe, Brother Roger and the embryonic community that arrived in Taizé lit a light that has spread out through the world.

They could never have imagined as they sheltered refugees and struggled to settle into an all but deserted village that their new home would attract people from all over the world and offer them hope for the future.

In the hands of Brother Roger is a light - but it is a light given to those gathered in Taizé to take with them back to their homes - their own parishes - their own communities.
